My dream was to work at Publix in my hometown. I tried but couldn't get on. Employment Matters helped me learn new skills and taught me to believe in myself. They helped me work on a plan of action, and I got hired! I've now been working there for 5 years, and I've even moved up into the first levels of management from my start as a bagger. Mr. Herrington was always a call away and helped me believe I could do something!"

Employment Matters took the time to get to know my nephew and what he wanted for his life. Mr. Herrington worked with him and included me in the process and helped him learn how to succeed at his job. My nephew has been working for over a year now, and we're so proud of him! His whole attitude about life has changed with his success."

My daughter had been without a job for a very long time. She had become discouraged and was ready to give up on ever achieving her goal of working or making something for herself. She continued to be turned down and sometimes was treated very rudely due to her disability. Mr. Herrington was able to help her grow in confidence and strength over the time he invested in her service. He fought for her and was willing to go the extra mile to make sure that not only did she find employment, but she was treated fairly and felt safe. The difference is very noticeable!"

I cannot say enough about the way Employment Matters connects with our students. Mrs. Toomey made an instant connection with our kids, and they cannot wait to come to class each week for the lesson. The students feel like they matter and can really achieve something of value. Employment Matters does more than just teach content and curriculum about job skills and self-advocacy. They invest in the kids and care for them, and that makes all the difference in the world."
