EMSGI works in partnership with the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency to provide employment services to individuals with disabilities across the state of Georgia. Our staff is committed to helping individuals reach their employment goals through teaching, training, and placement.
Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-Ets)

Working in partnership with Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency and local school systems, EMSGI serves students by providing vocational education instruction throughout the school year to registered individuals. Our instructors are certified in vocational instruction and teach students various topics including Workplace Readiness Skills, Job and Career Exploration, Self-Advocacy, and Post-Secondary Options and Planning. Students learn the basics of resume writing, interviewing skills, social etiquette, financial literacy, vocational expectations, and more during these sessions. Classes can be weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly depending on the needs and availability of the students and the school system. Currently, EMSGI serves several schools and groups located in 12 counties across South Georgia and more than 300 students at this time.

Supported Employment Services

Through our Supported Employment Services, we are able to connect with individuals with disabilities and help find job opportunities and secure placement in the community workforce through partnership with Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency. We work one on one with individuals to determine work goals, develop workplace, social, and personal skillsets, and provide placement opportunities for competitive, gainful employment. We provide support in resume writing, interviewing skills, applications, inventory testing, and more to help secure job opportunities. Once hired, we continue the support to make sure individuals are succeeding in their new job opportunity. We are available for on-site job coaching and training for individuals in the workforce and serve as a supportive resource to individuals as they navigate working and thriving in a community job. In the last five years alone, EMSGI has placed over 400 people in jobs across South Georgia in various fields such as retail, food service, janitorial, warehouse production, clerical, hospitality, grocery, and management.
